An HR team for small to medium businesses that need one
Inject is a team of HR, recruitment and training consultants who work alongside leaders in small to medium businesses across Australia. Outsourced HR gives the business that experience without a full-time HR manager, with the same consultants handling the people matters that come up each week and the work that stops them coming back.

Most businesses start by outsourcing one area, such as advice on a difficult employee matter or a set of contracts that needs updating, and add more as the team grows. The same consultants work across every area below.

Practical advice on everyday people matters, from consultants who know the business.

Employment documents that fit how the business runs and stay current with the law.

Understanding why people stay or leave, and what keeps good people building a career here.

A fair, documented approach to setting expectations and addressing underperformance.

Procedurally fair fact finding when a complaint or conduct concern is raised.

Hiring that assesses attitude, aptitude and behaviour as well as experience.

A fair process for some of the hardest decisions a business makes, handled with care.

Planning for the roles the business will need next and the people ready to fill them.
Some businesses want someone to call when a people matter comes up. Others want an HR partner who knows the team well enough to see issues coming. Each option is delivered by the same consultants, so the support can grow with the business. The options are:

An in-house HR manager makes sense once there is enough people work to fill the role every day, and the business is comfortable relying on one person’s experience across compliance, hiring and leadership development.
Before that point, many small to medium businesses get better coverage from an outsourced HR team, with experience across HR, recruitment and training, cover when someone is on leave and support that grows or eases back with the business. Some keep an internal HR coordinator and bring in Inject for senior support on the complex matters.
Many managers in small to medium businesses step up because they were good at the work, not because anyone showed them how to lead a team. Inject’s leadership training closes that gap with practical sessions built around the business, its people and the conversations its managers are already having.
The consultants who run the sessions also support the HR side of the business, so what managers learn carries into how performance and conduct are handled day to day. Sessions cover:

Inject’s consultants are business people first, who happen to specialise in HR. Advice comes with options and a clear recommendation rather than a rulebook. The work is judged by what changes in the business, not by how much HR gets produced.
“Founder energy should scale. Founder dependency should not.”
Working across hiring, HR and training, our consultants learn the business, its culture and how its teams are built, so the advice fits the business it is for.
Proven capability in recruitment, training and HR, delivered as one solution. The combined effort lifts capability and engagement across the team.
Regular check-ins and on-the-ground feedback help us see needs and risks early, with actions lined up before issues become urgent.
Work that improves business performance and builds confidence in investing in people.
Inject’s consultants work with small to medium businesses in metropolitan and regional areas across Australia. The work spans HR, recruitment and training, and the people who help a business hire are the same people who support its leaders once the new starter arrives.
Supporting clients with teams in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

“I found I was spending a lot time chasing my staff with very little result. The result of working with Inject was that all my staff are now outperforming their targets and I have a lot more time on my hands to work on the business and to be with my family.”

“They act as true partners, taking the time to ask good questions and understand what makes the business tick. They build capacity and capability, leaving behind strong foundations that continue to add value well beyond the assignment.”

Former CEO, Empower Wealth
“What I really liked was how they not only listened to us, but they also build really strong and trusted relationships with my senior staff. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to any company who wants both a fun culture, as well as a team of people who are focused on the things that make you money.”

Managing Director, Brand Works
“Tommy and his team have really taken the time to understand our business and the underlying motivators for the decisions we make that have an impact on HR. This has enabled the team at Inject HR to take a targeted approach to the services and advice they provide as opposed to those who opt for a generic ‘one size fits all’ approach.”

Lead to Grow with Tommy Sim
Growing the team should make the standard easier to hold, not harder. Tommy Sim on the distinction that keeps decisions landing back with the founder.
Outsourced HR is when a business uses an external team of HR consultants instead of, or alongside, an internal HR function. At Inject it covers day-to-day advice on people matters and the longer-term work behind them, such as contracts, policies, performance processes and leadership capability.
Most of them. Common examples are employee relations advice, performance and conduct matters, employment contracts and policies, onboarding and probation, modern award interpretation, HR audits, recruitment and training. Some businesses outsource everything, while others keep some tasks in-house and outsource the rest.
Usually because the people work has grown beyond what the owner or managers can handle well, but not yet to the point of a full-time HR role. Outsourcing gives them experienced support and sound documentation without adding a permanent position.
Outsourced HR is the broad term for using an external HR team. Managed HR is one way of doing it, where Inject acts as an ongoing HR partner with proactive support. HR On Call is a lighter option, giving leaders advice when a matter comes up.
